I'm grateful for the support of organizations that share my commitment to thoughtful, responsible leadership.

Ventura County Voters for Animals

Early in this campaign, I decided not to seek political endorsements. City Council is a nonpartisan office, and I didn't want my campaign to become about which political groups or organizations were behind me.

Then I received a questionnaire from Ventura County Voters for Animals. They sent it to the candidates and even extended the deadline to give everyone an opportunity to participate.

I decided to complete it because animal advocacy is something I genuinely care about.

Their questionnaire wasn't about party politics. It asked 20 substantive questions about animal welfare and the responsibilities local elected officials have when decisions affect animals. I received a 100% score, and they subsequently endorsed my campaign.

That endorsement means something special to me because caring about animals isn't Democratic or Republican. Animal welfare crosses party lines.

Anyone who knows me knows that animals have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. This photo is of me and Cody, who was with me for many years. ❤️

I still believe voters should look beyond a list of endorsements and decide for themselves who they trust to represent them.

But this one? I'm very proud of it. 🐾
